I see very few breaker block zones compared to regular order blocks. Is the indicator working?

Yes. Breaker blocks are inherently rarer than regular order blocks because they require a full failure cycle: an OB must form, then fail, then flip polarity. Not every OB fails — many hold as expected. The rarity is what makes breaker blocks high-probability setups. If you want more signals, reduce SwingStrength to 3 to detect smaller structure points, or increase MaxBrkAge to keep zones visible longer.

What is the difference between a breaker block and a regular order block?

A regular order block is the last opposing candle before a structure break — it represents where institutions entered before a move. A breaker block is a regular order block that FAILED — price broke through the zone, invalidating the original institutional thesis. The failure transforms the zone's polarity: former support becomes resistance, former resistance becomes support. Breakers represent where institutional expectations were proven wrong, creating new directional bias.

Question 3

Zones disappear from my chart. Is the indicator repainting?

Accepted Answer

No, the indicator does not repaint. Zones are removed for two reasons: mitigation (price closed through the zone, invalidating the breaker) or expiration (the zone exceeded MaxBrkAge bars without being retested). Both are expected behavior. If you want zones to persist longer, increase MaxBrkAge.

Question 4

Can I see both regular order blocks and breaker blocks on the same chart?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Apply the Order Blocks Bundle chart indicator and the Breaker Block chart indicator to the same chart. They use independent detection engines. Regular OB zones will show institutional accumulation points, and breaker zones will show where those OBs failed. This gives you the complete SMC zone picture.

All columns show zeros. No breaker blocks are detected for any symbol.

Breaker blocks require a full OB failure cycle which needs significant historical data. Right-click the indicator column header, go to Studies > Edit for All Symbols..., click the General tab, and ensure additional bars loaded is set to at least 500-1000. Breakers are also inherently rarer than regular order blocks — scan larger watchlists to find the few symbols with active breaker zones. You can also reduce SwingStrength to 3 for faster detection.

Question 6

InBullBrk shows 1 but I do not see the zone on my chart. Why?

This is likely a timeframe mismatch. RadarScreen calculates on the interval set in the interval selector (bottom-right corner). If your RadarScreen is set to 15-minute but your chart is on 5-minute, the breaker zones will differ because market structure breaks occur at different levels on different timeframes. Match the RadarScreen interval to your chart timeframe.

How do I find symbols approaching a breaker zone for the first time?

Sort by NrBullDst or NrBearDst ascending to find symbols closest to a breaker zone. Check RetestCnt — if it shows 0, the breaker has not been retested yet, which is the highest-probability setup. Symbols with NrBullDst under 1.0 (within 1% of the zone) and RetestCnt = 0 are your top candidates.

I see very few dots on my chart. Is the indicator working?

Accepted Answer

The ShowMe only plots dots on the first bar entering a breaker zone — and breaker zones themselves are rare because they require a full OB failure cycle. If the market is trending without pulling back to breaker levels, few retest signals will fire. This is expected. Reduce SwingStrength to detect more zones from smaller pivots, or increase MaxBrkAge to keep zones visible longer for potential retests.

Question 9

A dot appeared but price immediately reversed out of the zone. Is this a failed signal?

Accepted Answer

The dot marks zone entry, not a guaranteed trade outcome. Not every breaker retest results in a successful reaction. Use the dot as an alert to evaluate the setup — check the CE midpoint, volume, candle patterns, and higher-timeframe trend alignment before committing. First retests of fresh breakers have the highest success rate.

Can I use the ShowMe without the main chart indicator?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The ShowMe calculates breaker blocks internally and works independently. However, using it alongside the chart indicator gives you the full picture: the chart indicator shows zone boundaries and the CE midpoint for stop and target placement, and the ShowMe marks the exact retest entry bar.

Question 11

I do not see any colored bars on my chart. The indicator is applied but nothing is painted.

Accepted Answer

The PaintBar only colors bars when the close is inside an active breaker block zone. Breaker blocks are rare by nature — they require a full OB failure and polarity flip. If no active breakers exist near current price, no bars will be painted. Check the chart indicator to see where breaker zones are relative to current price.

Question 12

Can I change the zone colors to something other than green and red?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Right-click anywhere on the chart, go to Studies > Edit Studies..., select the study, and click the Inputs tab. Change BullBrkColor and BearBrkColor to any TradeStation color name (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, White, etc.) or RGB values. Choose colors that contrast well with your candlestick colors for maximum visibility.

Question 13

Can I use this alongside the Order Blocks PaintBar?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but be aware that both PaintBars will try to color the same bars, and one will override the other. TradeStation applies PaintBar studies in the order they were added — the last one applied takes priority. To avoid conflicts, use different colors for each PaintBar so you can distinguish which zones price is inside.
