Volume Imbalance RadarScreen brings body-to-body gap detection to your watchlist scanning workflow. Color-coded columns show which symbols have active Volume Imbalance zones, how close price is to those zones, whether price is currently inside a zone, and when new gaps form — all across your entire watchlist simultaneously.

  • NrBullDst and NrBearDst columns show percentage distance to the nearest bullish or bearish Volume Imbalance zone — teal background when a zone exists, gray when no zones are active for that side
  • BullCnt and BearCnt show how many active bullish and bearish Volume Imbalance zones exist for each symbol — green for bullish demand gaps, crimson for bearish supply gaps
  • InBullZone and InBearZone columns light up with strong green or red backgrounds when price is currently inside an active Volume Imbalance zone — these are your live gap-fill setups
  • NewVISig column flashes amber when a fresh Volume Imbalance was detected on the current bar — sort by this column to catch new gaps as they form in real time
  • All cells use the Indicator Hub dark theme palette for consistent visual scanning

Sort by InBullZone or InBearZone to find symbols currently inside Volume Imbalance zones — these are active gap-fill trades. Sort by NrBullDst or NrBearDst ascending to find symbols approaching an institutional gap. Sort by NewVISig to catch fresh gaps the moment they appear.

Includes the same quality filters: MinGapATR for size filtering and optional RequireVolSpike for volume confirmation. All signals use completed bar data only. Non-repainting guaranteed.

Who This Is For

Built for SMC day traders and swing traders managing 20-100 symbol watchlists who trade gap-fill setups at body-to-body imbalance levels. Use this to monitor your entire universe for Volume Imbalance proximity and active fill signals without manually checking charts.

Add the scanner to your main RadarScreen window. During market hours, sort by InBullZone descending to find symbols where price is sitting inside a bullish demand gap right now. Sort by NrBullDst ascending to find symbols approaching gaps that have not been filled yet — these are pre-setup alerts.

When you spot a symbol with InBullZone = 1 or InBearZone = 1, switch to the chart indicator to see the exact zone boundaries and midpoint for precision entry timing. Check BullCnt or BearCnt to gauge how many institutional gaps exist at different price levels.

The scanner works on any timeframe. Use 5-minute intervals for intraday scanning, daily for swing trade setup identification. Best results on liquid markets where body-to-body gaps represent genuine institutional momentum.

Common Issues

Most columns show zeros. Very few symbols have active Volume Imbalance zones.

Volume Imbalances are naturally rarer than other SMC zones because they require consecutive candle bodies to not overlap. On liquid instruments during normal volatility, body-to-body gaps are uncommon. This is expected — each zone that does appear is more significant. Lower MinGapATR to 0.05 to catch smaller gaps, or use a higher timeframe interval where body-to-body gaps are more common.

InBullZone shows 1 but when I open the chart I do not see the zone.

This is likely a timeframe mismatch. RadarScreen calculates on the interval set in the interval selector (bottom-right corner). Match the RadarScreen interval to your chart timeframe to see the same Volume Imbalance zones.

I am getting many NewVISig signals at the market open. Are these all valid?

The market open often produces body-to-body gaps as the opening candle jumps from the prior close. These are technically valid Volume Imbalances but may be caused by the opening auction rather than continuous institutional flow. Enable RequireVolSpike to filter for gaps backed by above-average volume, which helps distinguish genuine momentum gaps from routine opening jumps.
